Brandon Sato
Pastor, Tokyo
Brandon Sato is the Pastor of Action Church Tokyo. Born in Hawaii and raised in Hiroshima, Brandon’s journey to faith began at age 15 during a visit to his uncle in South Carolina. It was there that he heard the gospel for the first time—a moment that forever changed his life and planted a deep calling to share Christ with the people of Japan.
At 19, he moved to Tokyo, facing immense challenges, including homelessness. One night, while crying out to God from the rooftop of a tall building, Brandon experienced a turning point. Shortly after, he found a welcoming church community that nurtured his faith and passion for ministry. Over the years, he served as a pastor and was instrumental in helping to launch Hillsong Tokyo in 2019.
Brandon and his wife, Samantha, have been married for 13 years and are proud parents to two amazing children. Together, they are on a mission to share the love and hope of Jesus with the 99% of Japanese people who have yet to encounter the good news.
